Hi,

Any one of you bought one of those:

Ruger Redhawk
.44 Magnum or Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum

in 107 mm barrel, the ones made specially for CANADA.

Any comments would be appreciated.

I have the GP100 in SS with the 4.2 inch barrel. I use it for shooting IDPA. The thing is great. Easy to draw ( i have a custom made leather holster ), double action is a little stiff, but it's working it self out well. Tight tolerances and good lock up.

Ruger Stainless six inch Great gun Great trigger A better gun for allot less cash than S+W 626

Mine is a GP100 4.2" blued ... great. Highly recommend Iowegan's gun guide from Ruger forum website. Some of the revolvers may be difficult to find right now .. I got mine from www.shooterschoice.ca in Alberta ... not the one in Kitchener ON. Roger was very good to deal with.

good luck.

I have a Redhawk in .44 Mag with a 5.5" barrel. After shooting it some I am happy with the longer barrel, I think the 4.2" would be a bit short for the .44 Mag. It sure would be handy out of a holster, though.

I agree. I chose the same 5.5 inch for the .44 mag. Too much muzzle flip on the 4.2 inch, after shooting both I am happy. I would be tempted to go with the 4.2 inch in the .357 though.
