Ruger Rings missing parts

Simply out of curiosity, as I doubt I'll find satisfaction, has anyone else when ordering Ruger factory rings find parts missing? Late last summer, I ordered a set of of extended Ruger rings from Brownell's for my No.1 and received one with the attachment bolt and nut missing. I e-mailed Brownell's requesting the missing bits and they sent a whole new ring assembly.

I just purchased a Ruger Scout from a Canadian dealer (a forum sponsor) and found one of the rings missing the same parts, the bolt and nut. I e-mailed Ruger requesting the missing bolt and nut and they basicly told me to go-fish and provided a repair site phone number.

Now, I'm not a big lover of Ruger rings anyway and will be using a full length XS Sight Systems rail anyway (very happy on Marlin GG), but to my mind.. anyway.. a deal is a deal and Ruger owes me the missing part.... which I'll never get.

But I would like to know if this is a pattern. Does Ruger have a narcoleptic quality inspector in its shipping department?

I've had that issue with several of the ring & base makers. I think I've had the least issue with Weaver. A simple phone call typically solved any problems I experienced.

Snapshots is the Canadian Ruger warranty center. I have dealt with them several times and will take care of your ring problem without too much problem.

Thanks. I will try the phone call to shapshot but I saw a video once of a chimp that could communicate by putting different shaped blocks into a box. It did quite well. How hard could it be.

Following up..Snapshots will be sending me the missing bits of the scope ring with no charge. Thank you. I may use the rings yet as I don't like how the full length XS Sight Systems Rail makes access to the chamber difficult and might even hamper ejection, in some circumstances. I did try it on the rifle, but its off now and the stock short rail with a Leupold 2.5 has returned. Seems like a good whitetail, wolf and black bear setup and a bit of a change from my go-to Jonathan Browning .54.

A&Shuntr and Lodi, thanks for prompting me to call the service depot. There was no trouble at all.

Glad to hear you made out fine. My LH Ruger Scout is inbound, cross my fingers all is good. I agree, the full length rail kinda defeats the idea of the whole scout concept
