Hey guys, I'm not sure if this should go into the Optics forum or here but here it goes.
So I bought a new Ruger M77 all weather in 7mm Rem Mag and went with a Leupold VX2 4-12X50 for optics. I took it in to a local shop and had it mounted. There wasn't really any room to adjust for eye relief due to the ruger mounting system which wasn't really a big deal because I was getting a pretty clear sight picture anyways. But now that Im looking at the scope I'm worried that firing the rifle might damage the scope because the rear ring is just a hair away from the magnification adjustment and the front ring is pretty much right against the bell of the scope. I am just wondering if my worries are unfounded or not. Also if it is a legitimate concern do I have any options short of putting a different scope on it? My brother has the same set up and hasn't had any issues but Im wondering if maybe its only a matter of time.
