Ruger Scout Rifle Bolt Won't Open

I'm having trouble getting the bolt open on my Ruger Scout rifle. It was functioning fine when I put it in the safe with the action closed, I pulled it out today to go shooting and the bolt won't open, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for any replies.

Other then the safety I can't imagine what would be locking your bolt..... try harder is about the only thing I can think of?
 
Does the bolt wiggle? That is, the bolt is not seized in the receiver; it is the handle that will not lift?
Sometimes this can be caused by the threads on the bolt sleeve being seized to the bolt body. If the body can't rotate on the sleeve it won't open.
Or the cocking piece is seized, and won't cam back.
Try taking the barrelled action out of the stock, and get some good penetrating oil into the bolt/bolt sleeve/cocking piece area.
Removing the barrelled action will also guarantee that none of the stock screws is fouling the bolt.
Bolt lock provision of the safety is clear?

Correct, the bolt wiggles and the bolt lock provision is clear. I should also add that I've only put ten rounds through it. I'll take it apart and see what I find.
 
Bottom action screw tightened into the bolt?
Kid's rifle had a stiff spot half way into cocking the action closed.
Took two threads off the bottom stock to receiver screw.
I changed the stock out, then later added a Timney trigger.
Then the wee bit of drag started.

It's just that it was cycling perfectly when I put it in the safe and now is jammed, I haven't made any adjustments to any of the screws or mounted a scope on it yet.
 
Might sound stupid but have you tried cycling it in different positions? Horizontal, Upside down, barrel up 90deg, barrel down 90deg etc. Something may have shaken loose during your last outing and could be resting against a cam or lock inside.

Got it fixed, thanks for the suggestions guys. The problem was the pin that locks the bolt closed when the safety is engaged was stuck in( it is the small pin that has an angled face right next to the notch that the safety locks into). I just pushed the pin in with my thumb nail and it freed up and came out, everything works great now.
