Hi all, just hoping someone else here who owns one could chime in

Problem i'm having is that usually once every magazine when you're feeding a shell up, it comes out of the bolt and seats in the chamber itself, and a mauser-style bolt you cant just click the shell onto the bolt. when this happens i often have to take the bolt out and feed a dowel down the barrel to push the shell out, its never stuck but the chamber is so recessed in the barrel that i cant reach it with anything from the back side. is anyone else having this issue? im thinking my magazine, or magazine well might be out of spec or something allowing too much slop? its done it since brand new, and i have about 60 rds through it now, anyone have any ideas? or should i just take it back to the dealer? i really want the rifle and i dont just want my money back i want it fixed

The extractor should jump the rim, no need for a dowel.

Yeah, I wasn't aware of the fact that you were supposed to only feed a mauser from the mag when I first shot one, but didn't notice much difference from a push-feed design, does it do damage or something?

Some Mauser fanboys are scared to snap a modified extractor over the rim, they fear it will cause the extractor to break when it's needed the most:eek:

You are'nt supposed to be able to drop one in the chamber and close the bolt on a military Mauser, although many have been modified to do so.
However with Ruger MK11's and hawkeyes ETC as well as Winchester 70's you can.
I had the same issue with my M70 and was advised by the mfg of the extractor how to fix the problem.
" Remove it and bend it a bit",this works because the Williams extractor on my rifle is made of spring steel.
I have no idea what Ruger extractors are made of.

It says right in the manual that you can hand load a round right into the chamber and close the bolt. Having said that, I had an issue with my Scout and not be able to close the bolt without a great deal of force so i sent it away for warranty repair. It came back last week with a note that they replaced and "tuned" the extractor...whatever that means. Anyway, I can now close the bolt on a loaded chamber but it still requires a little force but it is much better than it was.
