Ruger Scout

No issues having the scope directly over the ejection port? This was one of the things I was wondering about with this rifle - the rail seems to be much further ahead than most other rifles?

The stock Scout rail is positioned forward to use a scout scope. Mine has a aftermarket XS rail as I would rather use a red dot LPVO than a scout scope.

There has never been any problem with mounting a scope over the ejection port on any Ruger bolt action. The action on a GSR is no different than their standard 77 style actions.

I have one in .223/.556 - Personally one the best rifles I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. Super smooth action, lightweight, super accurate, customizable, 10 rounds. They don't make them in this calibre anymore so it would take a very attractive offer for me to consider parting ways with it.

That wood stock one that was on the EE last week was a beauty, I thought it might be around for a bit at $2k, but she must of sold

I had this rifle in 450BM, it was a laser out to 200 yards with Hornady black or hand loads, noticeable drop at 300 yards, never tried beyond that. It would be a great bush gun. The 300GR ammo out there is low and slow, cuts through just about anything. It’s a definite thumper.
