"...have no idea if and when they..." You won't ever see a 16.2" barrel here. No market. Mind you, it's not inconceivable for Ruger to make a 20", eventually. There are U.S. States that think a 16.2" barrel is evil too.

I'd like to handle one of these and have a good look inside to see how it works but being Ruger I think that they should have done it well.

The gas system cannot be completely removed from the gas block - only the gas plug will come out. The piston rod cannot be removed for cleaning.

To me, that is an epic fail.
