Rugers...........

Good wheelguns in my book....

Just a point of interest, though, for those contemplating either a Ruger Service Six or Security Six revolver..... Check out the serial number. For the guns starting with serial number prefix "151" and above they changed the grip. It is a lot easier to find after market grips like Pachmayrs and Hogues for the ones with serial number prefix "151" and above than the earlier series of the same models....;)

I have a .357 Security Six with 3" bbl and fixed sights. It is of the older frame style. The angle of the grip is very uncomfortable and grips are impossible to find. Other than that great revolver.

cheers Darryl

I had two of these this year, and they are great guns, thou the
factory grips are crap to shoot. Both of mine where early ones and you
CAN NOT buy new grips for them, thou in last couple of years I did
find a couple sets of pacm. -used at the gun shows- I also
made a set of wood ones.

Yes, I believe so, thou they look the same .
It is not a big deal is you shoot 38 sp.
With 357m the ,it is hard to keep a good grip.
Colt, and S-W also put small grips on there
guns years ago and I never figuared out why?
Cheap?

I had a Service Six for about fifteen years and put a lot of rounds through it with no issues. Believe I still have a whack of speeloaders around for it and pouches if any interest.

Accurate revolver. Mine had a hogue aftermarket grip and I found it uncomfortable to shoot even with 38 special loads.

Hey Jason, the revolver is still going strong and is more accurate than my abilities so far. I find it confortable with factory 38 loads and my own reloads, but less so with full house 357's.

Once I get a S&W or Ruger I may change my mind but for my first revolver it is suiting me just fine.

I have a couple of Speed Sixes in 9 mm and a Service Six in .357. They just keep chugging along with no hiccups.

I had a Llama .22 LR semi auto pistol back in the middle '70's. It was a nice reliable, cheap handgun. I think I paid either $54 for it back then. Great pistol, but I had a problem getting reliable aftermarket magazines. The mag that came with the gun worked flawlessly but the ones I bought from "Tripple K" at that time were terrible. It is a fantastic handgun to take the girlfriend shooting with.

In fact, the 22LR version perform very well and are surprisingly accurate. This may not always be the case with the 32acp, 380 and 9mm versions. If u do some research, you will find that the 22 version(Especiale) is sought after in the US, but a major drawback is parts availability. I love my Llama22 and have other calibers in that model as well. The 22 far out performs its brothers. Mags are pricey if u can find them. Numerous vendors list them but hardly any have stock.
Cheers
