I don't think there's an entry for it in Armalytics yet.
I wouldn't expect there to ever be an entry under anything but "prohibited" unless there is a massive change in government.
Agreed. If sock boy gets kicked to the curb I sure would like a 20” SFAR if NR for hunting…
I'd be happy to just get Stag 10s back...
True. Think the SFAR is lighter which would be nice.
Lighter, smaller, adjustable gas system and takes all the parts you'd want it to. I'd buy one even if restricted.
To clarify, the SR 7.62 was a piston operated semi auto that was discontinued and that's the one showing as prohib in Armapytics. The new SFAR is a gas operated semi chambered in .308 and smaller than most .308 semi auto modern sporting rifles. I don't think there's an entry for it in Armalytics yet.
I'm confused. Are you saying there are two SR 7.62's, one prohibited and one not on the market yet?
The new one is not called the SR 7.62, it's called the SFAR. Two different rifles by Ruger. The discontinued SR 7.62 is currently prohib while the SFAR is so new that it hasn't yet been classified or put on a ban list.
I thought maybe Ruger screwed us by using the wrong terms in their marketing but I can't find anything outright saying AR or whatever. Who knows maybe if the stars align they'd let it through?
SFAR Also it's basically identical to all the now Prohib ARs in EVERY meaningful way.
But despite being similar from what I understand it's a proprietary upper/lower combo, and probably some of the internals. Enough to make it NR with 18.6" barrel....who knows.
