I bought a used Ruger Single Six Revolver .22 and shot Blazer .22LR ammo through it and there was a dangerous build up of lead in the barrel.I sent the gun in for repair and waited for about two months for my gun to be fixed and finally decided to try something. Different ammo.....the reasoning was this, how can lead build up at the entrance of the barrel...the answer- it melts,so the ammo is to hot,cut back on the charge.
I tried some CCI standard velocity Target and put 50 rounds through it..no problem, I also tried some CCI CB but it was way too lame although it did hit the target.
I am going to stick to the CCI target ammo... it is almost as hot as the Blazer but it does not build up in the barrel.
Have you checked your bore today???
Be safe,have fun,buy more guns.
