I am getting ready to pull the trigger on buying two Ruger Single Ten revolvers in 22R (if I get one, the missus says she gets one too!) but I there does not seem to be a lot of info either here or in Rimfire Central about them and the little that I have read seems to indicate that it is not uncommon to find very rough chambers on these.

Now I am also taking that with a grain of salt because people rarely get on the forums just to say how much fun they are having shooting their new .22 and to tell you all about the issues they are not having. Human nature being what it is, people are more likely to take the time and effort to type when they are having problems...

So that said, I'm looking for any first hand knowledge that I can find on these guns. Have you experienced the allegedly common problem of rough chambers and difficult loading and/or ejection of spent cases? Any comments about trigger weight and smoothness? accuracy issues?

Thanks everyone! any feedback on the Single Ten is very much appreciated! I guess there are so many conflicting reports of Ruger's QC in recent years, and now with the recall on the Mark IV, that I'm a little gun shy.

I bought a stainless steel single six (hunter) convertable a couple of months ago and couldn't be any happier with it.
Great trigger, and accurate. Zero issues. Prefer shooting it to a semi auto.
Loading & ejecting 10 rounds from a single action revolver is about 4 too many.
I know Hickok 45 likes .22 revolvers that hold 9 or 10 rounds, but if you are shooting one handed, esp. your weak hand, by the time you have shot 5 or 6 rounds, the muzzle might just start wobbling a bit, lol.

I bought my wife one. I found out the front sight was canted at the first range trip so I sent it back for warranty work. It got back to me in about two weeks. Since then it has worked perfectly. Very accurate to boot.

Thanks for the first-hand feedback There are times when I prefer a .22 revolver to a semi as well and I'm particularly thinking about an SAA style one right now... I'm not too worried about the 10 round cylinder, but that is still a good point. with a good holster, it can be just as fun to shoot a few shots, re holster, practice your draw, then shoot a few shots more.
