I am getting ready to pull the trigger on buying two Ruger Single Ten revolvers in 22R (if I get one, the missus says she gets one too!) but I there does not seem to be a lot of info either here or in Rimfire Central about them and the little that I have read seems to indicate that it is not uncommon to find very rough chambers on these.

Now I am also taking that with a grain of salt because people rarely get on the forums just to say how much fun they are having shooting their new .22 and to tell you all about the no issues they are having. Human nature being what it is, people are more likely to take the time and effort to type when they are having problems..

So that said, I'm looking for any first hand knowledge that I can find on these guns. Have you experienced the allegedly common problem of rough chambers and difficult loading and/or ejection of spent cases? Any comments about trigger weight and smoothness? accuracy issues?

Thanks everyone! any feedback on the Single Ten is very much appreciated! I guess there are so many conflicting reports of Ruger's QC, and now with the recall on the Mark IV, that I'm a little gun shy. ;)

I have one works great, fun shooter does not like Winchester ammo at all, you would need a hammer to get them in, federal no problem and yes that is after you clean it too

Thanks! That is good to know. I never use Winchester rimfire ammo anyway, but that is interesting. How do you find the trigger? form the hands on time I had with one at Wholesale Sports , the trigger seems quite decent for what it is.

I find the trigger a little heavy for my liking, but I find it is accurate though. I bought it for my misses but I shoot it regularly, like as I said in earlier post its a fun little shooter.

Love mine... only shoot CCI Mini-Mag 40 grain solids... very accurate revolver... carried it on the trapline for dispatch (uhmmm... etc...)... wish I could carry it for grouse when riding the dirt bikes.

Whatever you do these days: "Check the gun out in person". There have been more issues with QC, than in the good ol' days. Or else social media has brought them to light, like never before.

Thanks guys! Pretty much exactly what I needed to know. I feel comfortable about my decision to buy them in person at wholesale sports tomorrow. Looking forward to taking mine for a spin on the weekend!
