here is Ruger's response when I asked them

Comment / question:

How come Ruger halting supplies to Canadian Market. I have been looking for GP 100 and all the dealers in Canada are telling me the same story that Ruger is concentrating their products within US market only. S&W Revolvers are readily available if Ruger keeps this up

Response:
We have been shipping GP100s all year long, but we have not come close to filling our distributors' requirements, either in USA or internationally. Some configurations may be harder to get than others. In addition we sell our goods through a two step process to wholesale distributors, and our distributors sell to retailers. Because of this, we have no control over the order in which retailers receive our firearms.

Without knowing from whom your retailer has ordered we cannot even begin to speculate about deliveries. However we suspect this is simply an issue of demand drastically exceeding supply. We are shipping as quickly as we can build them.

Ellwood Epp's just got an order from Ruger a month or two ago and I believe they sold out in a few days, they are coming into the country, just very slowly. You pretty much have to have cash in hand and be ready to buy one when they show up.

Or you could do what I just did and buy a used one.

I'm looking for new or used if you hear of one please advise me - THKS :D RJ

When I couldn't find the 6" GP when I was looking for one, I ended up with an SP101 4.2" in .357 mag (not for sale).

I did get a chance to shoot a GP100 6" in .357 mag later on, but I found that I actually prefer the SP myself.

If we had a little more freedom in Canada I'd hike with a SP 101 .357mag.
It's a great combination of size and weight for a .357 and it fits like a glove in a "VICTORY PILOT MODEL SHOULDER HOLSTER".
I don't have a picture of the holster with the SP101 in it but here's one with a Colt New Frontier 4 5/8"
