Just finding some crazy price differences out there on these guns, and wanted to give anyone interested the heads up.

Locally 2 dealers have them for sale, Lanz Shooting Supplies, and Al Simmons. Lanz was originally asking $699, and Al Simmons $649, which I thought was a pretty big difference, but now I am seeing Prophet River was selling them at $729!!!

That is quite a friggin spread IMHO.

Anyways, most reputable dealers should be price matching so hope this helps out.

if one dealer bought their shipment last week and another bought 3 months ago, i would expect a price difference given the recent drop in the dollar. no one is gouging here. frankly i think it is unfortunate that seems to be what you are insinuating about PRF, which is the absolute opposite of my experience with them. they typically have the best prices around. also fwiw, i personally see nothing wrong with the principles of supply and demand.

I could understand that being a posibility, but these guns have been backordered for at least a year so not sure that order time is a factor.

I am simply giving a heads up to the people on this forum interested in this gun, as the only sponsor who I have seen advertising it yet was PR.

As far as PR's pricing is concerned I have found PR to be on the high side, but they do tend to get great reviews as far as service goes. I have never dealt with them, so I can't say.

Regardless I just checked and it looks like PR is sold out anyways.

15%..... That's not a huge spread. Take note of grocery prices next time you are shopping. Milk in these parts is $4 a bag at the macs milk, but $5 at the grocery store less than 1km away

Look at Charter Arms and Ruger SR9s. I've seen the CA Bulldog for $449 (EPPS) and $549+ elsewhere. The lowest I've seen the SR9 was $430 last year (can't remember where but it was out west) and this year they're north of $530 in many places.

Gentlemen , I think all the OP was doing was giving CGN members a heads up in regards to pricing on this firearm......Thanks for the information......Take Care

and with all forums, others can provide additional information, opinions, and alternate views. in fact it is the prudent thing to do if there are other material considerations....

Thank you...

My post was about one specific item, which I know alot of people are interested in, and have been waiting for years for these to come in.

I was so eager to just get one that I called in and was ready to pay up the $700 at Lanz, but when I informed a friend that they were in, he called Al Simmons and found they also had em, and at a lower price. I then talked to Lanz and they were happy to price match.

I don't care who you buy from or what you pay, but this info may help someone either buy somewhere cheaper, or get a price match.

Sorry for being an #######....

We like to be on the low side pricing-wise but in this case, we paid top dollar to actually get them in and paid close to 1.10 in exchange as Ruger prices in USA Dollars. Canadian prices with be going north soon on lots of products as 2014 priced product rolls in and with the lower Can$.

Fair enough, and obviously it didn't make a difference as you sold out anyways.

They are hard to find, so the important thing is that we finally got some in Canada, and Ruger's inventory issues may be getting better.

Pays to shop around I guess.
Did the above shops get their guns through Ruger distribution or were they brought in special like Phrophet?

Yes, their inventory is getting better. Had a good chat with Ruger Reps at SHOT. We booked a lot of Ruger guns and a good portion are shipping, at least in part, almost immediately.
Even about a third of our 10/22 order is ready for delivery!

now if we could just get your website to show if the stuff is in stock.....

To anyone looking; don't let an "out of stock" symbol on the site scare you.. If you're interested you should email - Al Simmons ended up being listed as out of stock but turns out they actually had 1 left; I emailed this morning after my nightshift and assumed they would tell me when the next batch was in.. I woke up after sleeping and it turned out they had one left.. Needless to say once I heard that I called in and placed the order. So pumped for something to go with my GP100 as the type of gun you bring to the range every time.
