Ruger SP101

Just picked up a new Ruger SP101 in .357 mag. I won it on GB for $420 + $15 S&H. This might actually be my favorite pistol. Fine precision craftsmanship and made in USA like me. I ordered a Wolff spring kit and Hogue grip, but I may not need the grip because I have big hands.

Picked up an early production model of the SP 101, a prohib and in .22LR.



It has the old adjustable rear sight that was significantly improved with the newer models.

Had a 3 inch SP101 in 357 back in the day. Great little solid gun. Sold it to a pal who still has it.

I have had it for a few months and it is already my favorite revolver. 500-600 rounds of 38 and 375 already through it. Fit and finish is better than what I expected (My first Ruger ever). Definitely better than most new production S&Ws I have recently seen. If I could only get used to Ruger triggers (length of pull only, nothing else) I would have never looked at a new production S&W again.

I bought a used 3" 357mag sp101 a while back for under $300.00 and it has become my favorite revolver,and i have a few older S&W adjustable sight revolvers.I never had a fixed sight revolver that was so accurate,even with full magnum loads.I heard recoil was bad with magnum ammo but i find it shoots like a dream,the weight of the revolver just soaks up the recoil even with the original Ruger rubber grips.I just love it,Thank you Mr RUGER
