Ruger SR-1911

I got the Ruger SR1911 a couple weeks ago. If your waiting for one I can tell you it is probably one of the best values in a quality 1911 in the market. Mine is very accurate and the fit and finish was above my expectations. I paid $750 plus HST for it and I dont think I would let it go for that at this time. I remember seeing a Ruger Redhawk with the 4.2" bbl on here last year for $1200. Obviously that was way above retail but if you want one and they are backordered till god knows when then you might have to pay the premium price. Supply and demand sets the price.

So it goes....

It must just be that I'm just not that into stainless 1911's..... Just had another crack at a another 'like new in box' Ruger SR1911 pistol for ~ suggested retail & passed on it.

I know..... I'm waiting for Ruger to announce it's clone in traditional blued finish. :yingyang:

NAA.

Its fair enough for him to ask what ever he wants for that gun and if youre dumb (or desperate)enough to pay that price,so be it.

Hear, hear! I might laugh at ridiculous asking prices, but it is the owner's prerogative to ask for whatever price he wants.

Consider the flip side of this. What if you really wanted something and were willing to pay extra for it, and there was someone else who had it, but wasn't willing to part with it at the price that the CGN commissars were allowing him to sell it for? What good does it do you if there is a maximum price, but nothing is available for that price?

Personally, I don't see the point in spending that kind of money on a Ruger when you can get a Colt for a little extra. The main appeal of the Ruger 1911s is that they appear to be a good gun for their price range. At $1100, this no longer applies. My prediction is that that listing will be around for a long time. If not, obviously there was at least one person willing to pay that kind of money for a Ruger 1911.

The same people who complain about high prices in the EE are the same people who complain about lowballers when they sell their stuff.

The seller isn't being deceptive. He has a product in limited supply that he is offering to the highest bidder.

Want it badly enough and can afford it? Buy it. Want it but can not afford it? You won't buy it. Pretty simple.

That pretty much sums it up. To some people, paying an extra few hundred is not a big deal for the latest thing. I'm not one of those people, but I certainly respect their right to do it.

What is so special about this Ruger 1911? Is it good quality for a cheap price?

What makes it different than a Sig 1911?

Was on a list since last spring for a SR 1911 and it came home with me today. Cant wait to take it out. Love the feel of it. Very nice grip, comfortable grip safety and nice balance.

I'm lazy...

Anyone know who has the best price on the SR1911? I don't care how long I have to wait, what's the best place to waitlist? I'm in BC if it matters.

I was on list at Pro-Line in Cgy since last fall. Got the call on Thursday. Fit, feel, and trigger are fantastic. I can't wait to get it out.
