Hi CGN,

I just picked up a SR-22 rifle and have some left over cash from the budget. Just curious about what the top 5 mods for the internals would be. I will list what I have so far.

-SR-22 with threaded barrel
-comp/flash suppressor
-dlask rails
-dlask extended charging handle
-magpul goodies

So what should I look at next? I shot it last weekend and got it zeroed and a Vortex Strikefire mounted. Trigger seemed pretty good to me but I don't have much experience with the 10/22 action. Anyway let me know what you all think.

A sr 22 has a different barrel than a stock 10/22. That is one of the reasons why its an overpriced 10/22.
If you think about swapping barrels. IMO its sorta defeating the reason of getting the sr22.
However I have a tacaol barrel and like it. Others like Dlask. A few have mystic cut barrels. Really havent heard much about them. Jerry is a good guy though!
Some have green mountain barrels. IMO I havent seen very many GM tackdrivers.
The trigger mod, auto bolt release and buffer swap are simple addon that really help.
The mag release from PWS is a huge help. Cheap from Questar.
You must know though. Most pleople think I dont know anything and give out bad advise.
So take my comments with a grain of salt.

Yup trigger mod, volquartsen extractor, bolt buffer. Some good mags if you can find any, have battledyne but there crap.Optics are a personal choice I started with a vortex strike fire but the red dot is not for me.I like too shoot out to 100yds or more so I now have a Nikon prostaff 3x9 150 bdc mounted.Strike fire is FS cheap.

Replace the entire trigger group in my SR22 with a VolQuartsen, night and day to the stock trigger. Clean, crisp break makes for accurate shooting.

Trigger mod is for performance, rest is mainly aesthetics. Rails, muzzle break just weights down the rifle. End of day you still have a supped up 10/22.

Get an AR if you really want to mod.
