What is your intended use? Are you hunting or punching paper?
I personally have a Bushnell Trophy T-dot scope on mine, mainly because it looked similar to an ACOG. I use my rifle mainly for shooting chickens. I find this scope is lacking for use as a hunting scope. The 1x scope is ok, but a chickens head at 50 yards is awfully small. So small in fact the red dot covers the neck and head of them, making accurate aiming difficult. Also, the dark coatings on the glass make for hard target acquisition in dark shadows. I missed alot of chickens simply because I couldn't see them in the scope. I would have to move my head and find it with my naked eye and move back and try to aim.
I am now looking for a 1-4 or 1-5x scope for my hunting rig.

So far I am running the cheap Tasco red dot on mine. Although I like the sight, it is much too low. I will be looking into a sparc or similar sight with a good amount of rise on it for my next optic. The way I shoot mine 1x magnification is more than adequate. (mag dumps on paper targets)
Both. I purchesed the gun for my son, it's a Christmas gift. I feel i need to get him some kind of site, since the firearm does'nt come with any.LOL. I want something that looks cool with the gun, as well as function. Heck i'd get a scope & a red dot if they all cost $300 or less in total. I do own three 10/22's that have scopes on them. One has a fixed power 4X40 , the second one 3-9X40 & a 1.5-6X40 . I've looked into the Trijicon ACOG, Knock off's that are made in china, not sure how well they would work after afew years.
I've ordered a Vortex Sparc for mine, should have it all together next week sometime. If I wanted a scope I'd seriously consider the Millet DMS + Burris PEPR combo that coldblood posted. That would make practical shooting / plinking a little easier out to 100 yards.
I have a Center Point dot on mine. Center Point is made by Crosman. I originally had planned to buy a Truglo dot or the red dot made by Barska. I figured the dot would be average nothing amazing. Was aiming low to avoid disappointment. Bought it for 90 bucks from a friend who had intended to use if for his crossbow. It looked cool so that made me a little more content with buying it. I threw it on my gun and with the flip caps it looks awesome. Ill try to get some pictures. It has the option of a red or green dot and adjustable brightness. I like that its a tube design. Can see my dot clearly. Ive heard if its to bright outside sometimes you have a little trouble with seeing dots. Could be the cheaper models. I can chase pop cans at 50 yards without a problem. I set this gun up with the intentions of shooting coons. No hopes for incredible accuracy at all. I absolutely love emptying my banana clip on a coon Ive chased up a tree. Id recommend it. But if your looking to spend upto 300 bucks Im sure you can find something that will be better.
I use the low-end Tasco red dot on mine. Like someone before me said, the 1x magnification is fine for the realistic ranges you're using this thing for. I got mine just last weekend and haven't had a chance to put a single round through it yet...but I intend to zero the red dot at 50 yards, and although I do intend to do some hunting with it the majority of its use will be punching paper. The majority of squirrels I shoot with a .22lr are sub-50yd shots anyway...I've found that even 3-9x scopes on their minimum setting can make target acquisition difficult at such close ranges when all the branches look the same!
Another poster said it was too low...and when I purchased the rifle the guy at the store said I would need high mounts...basically see-throughs for a comfortable setup but personally I find it high enough.

Mind if I ask where ya got it from, and price? Ive been watching this thread to see what other guys are all using.
