The DPMS rifles were a good value for the $$ years ago. Although I cant vouch for the current production ones--people seem to think highly of theirs.
They are not the same as the old ones.
Only the dpms branding remains, they have 0 in common with the old dpms rifles, as dpms was sold and basically dismantled to/by the Cerberus group.
The g2 308's are built to higher tolerances, with higher quality materials, utilizing the most innovative evolution of the stoner design for 308's so far. It feels and handles exactly like a 223 ar.
Seriously, if you walked up to me wanting to trade straight across for your kac or LMT, for my g2 recon, I would absolutely not take that deal.
Cerberus made a massive error in branding these as a dpms product, they'd have gained more fame labeled as a Remington due to the low quality stigma attached to the dpms name.
