Ruger SR-9 question

Ok I know the stainless SR-9 is made of stainless steel (obviously ) but, is the black one just regular blue steel or is it covered stainless steel or some other kind of corrosion resistant covering?

Carbon steel, black nitride finish
9e is carbon steel, black oxide finish

the stainless one isn't stainless either if I remember correctly. Same metal as the all black one, just brushed. tho I am not 100% on that.

The black coating is quite tough tho, its taken more than I figured it would.
