I hope the Ruger 1911 will be available in blue also. Anyone heard if they may come forth with a blued model?

Well I got an email back from Ruger. At this time no plans for a blued model.

The MSRP was always $799 on there website. Not sure why everyone thinks the price went up.

I guess because price locally if you can find it is around $725 CDN I should pay more attention

I'm a Ruger lover, slowly becoming a Ruger hater. Like many, I have one on pre-order and was originally told the end of February at the latest. Got an e-mail today indicating maybe sometime in the summer by the earliest. Going to have to switch to a different 1911. - Damn you Ruger!

Ironic with the struggling economy been waiting since last summer for SR1911, S&W anny and Glock 21 Gen 4. Add the RFB and XCR-M to that list. Guess folks have money for firearm.

So since I'm the one who started this thread way back in time, I felt I should say that I finally got my SR1911 from P&D. CFC took their sweet time but I finally picked it up from the Post on Thursday. I haven't had the chance to fire it yet but have taken it apart and she's a tight little pistol. It's my first 1911 but I worked at WSS for over a year and handled many of them and for it's price range, it will challenge any low end Sig, Kimber, or S&W and probably come out above for looks, feel, and tightness. From the reviews I have read, it shoots pretty damn sweetly as well. I hope you all receive yours soon if you are still waiting for one. I know Wanstalls has started a backorder list and I was number 2 on it but took my name off when I got the call from P&D. It's worth the try if still interested. All they need is a name, no other commitment. Cheers everyone.

Some must have landed in Canada, my SR1911 came in on Friday , ordered from the local store here (infact it was on order before i got there. ) only took 6 months i think lol
