So I ordered a SR22 yesterday and it's already in the mail (big thanks to P&D) now I am looking into mag options.

What mags have you used? What are you using now? What works? What doesn't?

I'm leaning towards the battledyne mags for the look but I am hearing mixed reviews and I hear they are hard to come by.

It doesn't look like Battledyne even tested their mags before putting them into production. Promags and BC steel lips need a little work but theyre very reliable once you do. I haven't used the 922 but the steel lip banana mags work good. Get a BC mag loader. Its one of those things you wonder how you ever survived without it. Dump a bunch of shells in, pop a mag in and turn the knob. No black, cut, raw fingers after spending hours emptying bricks of ammo through your 10/22!

I was thinking BK steel lips just the wife has a thing against the banana mags... Normally not a problem but it's basically going to be hers till her Mossberg flat top comes back from warranty and actually works(fingers crossed/hopes not high).

Maybe she will just get over it...

We like the Promag steel lips 25 rd mags, they are on special, 3 pak $79, HERE.

I have 5 of the BC steel lips. Work pretty good. I have the occasional ftf which is prolly more the ammo than the mag. They do need a little lube (graphite or g96) to help 'em, and it seemed to help leaving them loaded for a few weeks.

I use butler creek. Seems fine for me.

The promag looks exactly like the butler creek mags and still compatible with the speed loader which is a plus

Don't waste your money on the hot lips. If you get real lucky and get one that feeds alright it won't last long as the feed lips wear out pretty quick. Get the steel lips, fit them and set the spring. Tens of thousands of rds later they still look and feed like new.

Even the plastic lip ones?

Are the Archangel AA922's any good???

The only time I have problems with mine is when I try to put 25rds in them. I believe that is just because I still need to break them in some more. Load them up with 20 and they work like a charm with no jams or stove pipes.

Mine are gen 3's, at least I think they are. Steel locking post and front pin.

What about the tear drops? I know the plastic is hard and there are complaints if you drop them they crack but I haven't seen and FTF or FTE complaints. Though I have no idea where you would get them in Canada.

I've got two BC steel lips. The first one had a few FTF's early on (like the first few times using it) and the second one was causing the bolt to stick open. I simply brought that one back to the store and they replaced it. The replacement was flawless right away. Never misfired once! The original hasn't either since the first few during break in. So yeah, they're both perfect now.
