Ruger SR22 pistol - Good low recoil, light-pull slide handgun for smaller hands?

My girlfriend likes/shoots my M&P22.

Did check this out, the standard/non-changeable grip size was too bulky for her hand size unfortunately. The slide she could manage though! ...just barely.

(EDIT: didn't realize there's an M&P 22, I think we looked at the M&P 9mm. Does the frame/grip change for the 22 version?)

Firearms Outlet Canada in Ajax Ontario has them

Will check this out too. (EDIT: out of stock, but looks like they did carry the 4.5in barrel version with 4" slide)

P&D Enterprise says they have in stock on their website. Great site sponsor, great to deal with.

Never came accross these guys, will check'em out!

The one shown by the OP is prohibited. You need one with a longer barrel if you're getting the SR22.

Edited OP.

Also looked into mark/buck series. Looks really accurrate, but all steel frame added too much weight for her.

SR22, or browning 1911-22....The aluminum/poly build and the 22 slide recoil spring might be the answer to the weight issues.

I hate the safety on it.
In the picture, the safety is on. To disengage the safety, you gotta push the safety lever up.
Opposite what you would do on 1911 (for example, where you push down on the lever to disengage).

Otherwise, pretty fun little pistol to shoot. My wife likes it better than the mosquito.

Never heard of the mosquito. Looks discontinued? I think she can train past the safety...especialy if it is going to be "her go to" pistol for range trips!

Grand Power makes a nice .22, I believe it's called the K22( could be wrong?), might be worth looking at, never shot one but have read many good reviews of them. My wife shoots the GSG, and has no trouble racking the slide, but if your wife is tiny, I can see where the weight of the GSG could be a problem...

Looked up the Grand Power K22S and K22 X-trim, both look nice, but tough to tell if it grips well for her or if it'd be too bulky. Looks more full sized and doesn't look like comes with any adjustable straps. Can anyone confirm?

22 slides is really easy for her. The GSG is a bit too bulky though, she has very slender hands, the grip and heft makes a big difference after shooting more than just a mag or two.

Thanks for all the heads up everyone!

Extreme gun shooting centre in Manitoba has the Sr.-22 pistol with the short frame extended barrel on for 499 if you were still looking for one. Cheapest I could find this model. Just ordered one from them last Monday and received today. First time I have dealt with them, but a good price and quick shipping. Thought it would be good for some cheap plinking. Girlfriend got home and fell in love with it. Fits her hands perfect. Feel like I need another one now for myself errrrrrr.
