Ruger sr22 vs Walther P22, which one?

Have no opinion on Walther vs Ruger, but I would choose a Buckmark first. They are different types of pistols the Walther and Ruger are combat type training aids in lieu of their full power brothers. The Browning is a dedicated 22 platform only with a great trigger and much better accuracy.

Thank you. I do realize the Buckmark is more of a target pistol and a different bread than the polymers. The more i read the more i am leaning to the buckmark. do you own a buckmark.

The walther is a perfect 22. Thousands and thousands of rounds of anything you feed it without issue. I don't know what the other guy was meaning by striker fire because the walther p22 is not. They are double action with ambidextrious controls and very comfortable and easy to use.

I was under the impression that the Walther P22 and Sig Mosquito were near twins and made by the same manufacturer...and the Mosquito has a terrible reputation for cracked slides.

I don't own either one and if I'm wrong on this, I apologize. Just throwing this out there. Am I wrong?

I have both and they are so similar that they are almost a copy. I use my ruger more, so Id say I like the ruger more. Worth mentioning that I have small hands, and these are little pistols.

Either one are good pistols. No issues with them at all.

they look really comfy but it does look like a small grip, the local shop does not have any to try.

Buckmark I now own 2

I owned a mosquito with issues.
And a p22 which I liked a lot, but hesitant of the slide issues.

Can't go wrong with a buckmark, woodsman, ruger mk series, etc.

I own both as well. Both are great shooters and have no issues with either. I have over 5000 rounds through them and they are not picky on ammo. I would recommend both but I strongly urge to to handle both to see which fits your hand better. The only negative with either of these is after market accessories. I have left everything stock so it does not bother me at all. Good luck on your search.

The Buckmark, Smith victory and Ruger Mark series are totally different than the the guns you are looking at. On a side note I have a Smith and Wesson Victory and its a great shooter as well. It always comes to the range with me.

Most .22 striker look-a-likes are a POS. Personally, I'd get a Buckmark or Ruger Mark IV series.

Clearly a general statement, no?

If the OP has already considered a Buckmark than the decision between the three should be extremely easy; one of them is clearly a better firearm. If the Buckmark is not financially feasible than it becomes a two mule race. Pick your favourite donkey! lol.

I've never handled the Ruger SR22, but the Walther P22 is tiny. I bought one for my wife quite a while ago, and now my 8 year old son runs it like a champ. It's not been used a whole lot, probably a brick or two through it, so I can't speak to the long term durability of them, but I bought it before I had heard of the slide cracking issues, and that might have made me buy a different gun. I did end up doing some work on it to smooth things out a bit, but it's a reliable pistol and functions fine on everything I've ever tried in it. It's a fun little plinker if you've got smallish hands. The Buckmarks are fine guns, but the one I shot wasn't as reliable as the P22, or a couple older Rugers I've got (MK2 and MK3).

I have owned a Buckmark previously. Gave it to a buddy's son as his first restricted when he got his RPAL. I will replace it with another Buckmark, just haven't decided which model.

funny, found a couple of buckmarks for just a little more money, 7075 aluminum frame, steel slide and bull barrel, full size grip, nice sights, upper rail, i guess my mind is mostly made up, thanks,
