just picked up a ruger sr22 at p+d $550 non restricted! comes with a fixed ar stock but i already put a colapsable ar stock on.

they have 5 or so more left for any one interested. they sold at least 2 of them while i was in.

very nice 22

DAMNNNN!!!!
I picked up a SR22 at P&D on Thursday. Why didn't I know about the SIG! Am I the only ONE??
Guess I'll haffta have a SIG too.

Seven 22's isn't too many, right?!

I am missing something here? Isn't the Colt M4 .22LR a restricted? Yet the SR22 is not. Comparing the two side by side and they basically appear the same. Same caliber, operating system, mag capacity, function etc.

Or is this just a case of me having common sense and trying to figure out Canadian gun laws? One is restricted whereas the other is fine. To me they are the same guns.

Who in this country makes firearms law? Are they even educated or know about firearms, because I just don't get it......EVER.

The Colt M4 22LR is based on the AR design, thus restricted.

The SR22 is still a Ruger 10/22 at heart, thus non-restricted.

But you are right, they look very evil in the eyes of non-believers!

Perhaps, you know something that the rest of us do not? I was lead to believe there was yet to be a determination on the Colt's classiification and as such, a FRT number has not been issued.

Nope cause barrel length doesn't affect rimfire only Overall length. Which means it will be non restricted because its longer than 27 inches. 29.1 inches with the stock collapsed to be exact.

The Sig522 will be probably restricted, AR look.
You know nothing. It will be one of two things. Prohibited or non-restricted. No other options. There is no way it will be restricted, at all.

AR look is not a factor, regardless it looks nothing like an AR15.

Wrong on the Colt M4 .22LR. Their class has yet to be determined. As far as I know know one in Canada owns one.
