I have been looking for a stainless steel guide rod for my Ruger SR40 to replace the polymer one that comes factory. The only place I can find online won't ship to Canada at this time... Does anyone know where I could find one of these from somewhere that would ship it north of the border? Thanks for any help.

your .40 came with a polymer guide rod? that's not cool. my 9 came with a steel one.

I did replace it with one from Galloway with the removable/tunable springs just because I wanted to be able to shoot light reloads.

Not sure why they won't ship here, I bought several things from them in the past.

It appears to be plastic. I would rather stainless because in my mind it is stronger and would likely never need to be replaced with my shooting frequency. That being said the Polymer one may be fine on it's own... Block seems to do great with them. I have owned a Smith M&P and a 1911... both had stainless steel guide rods and I just feel like they are stronger.... It may be all in my head though and the polymer may be fine.

Apparently their website won't ship but if you contact them and it is under $100 they will. Parts ordered yesterday!

do it up!! I got lots of stuff off them and its good. Pistol has a very nice trigger and is just overall nicer, plus the tunability of the guide rod for different ammo.

I did have a problem with one of the small parts(polished safety plunger), and so they paid me back for it. All good stuff

I've put almost 8000 rounds through my SR9 in less than a year and the polymer guide rod is working just fine so far.

I'd have to go look, if I can find it, but I am pretty sure it was steel. I really only wanted the stainless one for the ability to change out the spring weights for different loads. I have to admit, it looks pretty cool tho :)

Apparently no they wont. I got a hold of them yesterday and they said no (even to less than $100 restrictions). However, they did say they're trying to gear up so they can ship and sell to us Canadians.

I didn't know this, that's great news!
