Ruger SR556 Approved For Export To Canada

We were recently advised by both Canadian Ruger distributors that some models of the Ruger piston driven AR-15's (SR 556)have been approved for export to Canada. These are now on order however apparently Ruger has advised they are 10,000 units behind in back order so we have no idea when and how many will be coming to Canada. Phil.

Carrier tilt is common to all gas piston. Ruger have developed at least 2 ways addressing this - 2 stage piston and multi-stage gas regulator.

Indeed ###y. Comes with 3 Pmags, troy front and rear sights, troy rail and flash hiders and Ruger pedigree. The stock could be better but hey, what it comes with alone is well worth getting one

Wow, checked the link and that's a lot of meat taken out of the receiver extension. You would think someone would put in an extended receiver extension (sort of like how PWS has their HK416 tube extensions) to prevent the gouging like that.

Really? Do you find those corrections necessary? Loosen up a bit and step away from the computer bud. This is the internet, not a test.

On topic, I dont care for Ruger and don't see the excitement. Seems like just another AR15 (more guns is always better though)

Let me break some news to you. You will be and are graded judged or otherwise ranked on everything you do everyday. If you can't grasp basic grammar, then how do you expect to be taken seriously about anything else you do? The problem here isn't so much spelling, we all make mistakes. Its the fact that many clearly don't COMPREHEND what they're typing or the meaning of the words they use. The right word(s) in the right context makes a big difference.

I agree. The piston craze is mostly marketing hype. Sure they offer some minor advantages, but the DGI system has been running fine for decades. Most of the "horror stories" are unsubstantiated or lacking in details to be definitive. Add the price of anyone's piston rifle and I don't see the benefit, especially in Canada where parts are near impossible to find for DGI guns let alone an exotic piston system(there isn't yet a standard).

That's nice, it's still a design flaw. So much for cutting edge considering this issue came out with their rifle, which means they didn't know about it, didn't test it, or didn't care until it became a much larger/more common issue. Ruger doesn't make anything worth $2k sorry...
