Ruger SR556? Non-restricted AR-15?

1) All AR-15s are take-downs
2) No, AR-15's are restricted by name
3) refer to #2

back to the Ruger. It is a good rifle - there are many others better, and many others worse. YMMV.

Irunguns will be able to help you out for that particular model. I wasn't sure if you wanted the actual "takedown" model, or just an AR15 based on your other questions.

Is there a particular reason you want the TD model? Of course the barrel change option is great... but for the price of that particular model, you could have 2 uppers and 1 really good lower.

That's the issue I've been having, why buy an expensive restricted firearm to where you can only shoot at a certified range and not on crown land which sucks. I want something similar but it seems to all be the same unless I buy something Chinese or inaccurate unless you have any other suggestions?
Try a VZ 58 their accurate and you can dress them up nice best of all nonrestricted I take mine in the crown land in Ont a few times a year.

Target shooting on crown land may become a thing of the past, if people don't start picking up after themselves.
The authorities don't need much of an excuse to put an end to our shooting enjoyment.
Do you think hippies, yuppies, and the sort, are comfortable coming in contact with armed civilians with black weapons, while out on their nature walks?
If they can't restrict the gun, they might restrict the place where we can shoot them.
Crown land is for all to enjoy, but shooters are at the bottom of the list because of the way they abuse the privilege.

Yep. Here in Alberta, too. Was just at a place today south of Calgary that's one of the few "safe" and "accessible" places to target shoot and there are a ####-ton of spent casings and shotgun shells, beer cans and tim Horton's cups that weren't there last fall. Not to mention targets stapled to trees and enough broken bottles, balloons and makeshift target boards to fill a garbage dump. I spent a few hours and cleaned up what I could. I was just out for a drive..I don't exactly keep a rake, garbage bags and my magnet handy when I'm not shooting.
I can't emphasize it enough...WAKE UP, PEOPLE! Start being stewards of the land you use.
Mind you, my rants about this probably fall on deaf ears because I seriously doubt a lot of the perpetrators even belong to these forums.
Anyway, back on topic. OP: do a search for non-restricted black rifles. There's a gazillion topics on it. The SR556 is a restricted AR-15 "variant".
