Ruger SR9 good combat pistol?

The comment was about the grip, as well as the 'pointability'...the hallmark of a great combat ( ala 1911) pistol...not comfort.
The new Ruger certainly has potential in these regards, however, the trigger pull 'kills' it.

Grip and pointability are moot points if the pistol won't run reliably 100% of the time. Comfort is a personal thing, not a performance thing.

It's for the U.S.Army's Tank Command, whatever that means. (I believe it's for the security for the tank factory.)

Ruger also just got a (1750 pistol) contract for the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

(And in neither case was it for the SR-9.)

Are you able to share which Ruger CF pistol was awarded the contract if it wasn't the SR-9?

I don't recall. (These particular Rugers don't really interest me.)
And I can't find it.

It might have been in Industry News in Small Arms Review or in The Insider in American Handgunner. I also recall a SAR feature on a U.S. Tank production facility, which might have been where that particular contract was mentioned, but I can't find that article either.

One additional source that might be of continuing interest is www.fbo.gov - where the U.S. federal government posts requests for proposals and awarded contracts. You can search for whatever area you're interested in (such as "pistols"). There are several different contracts listed now.
