I got an SR9 off a CGner and of course the first thing I did was take it apart. Unfortunately, this pin

that the manual identifies as the Fire Control Holding Pin came out and I have no idea how to put it back in. When the safety is up the pin hole is blocked. When the safety is down the hole seems clear but something is not working. If I try it from the right side it seems to go in part way but no further.

UPDATE: I found out the solution in a YouTube comment. That pin can fall out when the Ejector is pressed halfway down. So I pressed it halfway down and was able to get the pin back in.

I dont own one but try youtube I am sure someone has a how to video somewhere may help you out

Sorry I didn't see this sooner - could have saved you a bit of grief and youTube searching. You got it though, you have to depress the ejector a bit and then the pin slides in (or out) quite easily. I don't know which YouTube video you found but Galloway Precision has a pretty good vid on how to take down and reassemble the SR9.

Thanks Runningfool, the video I found the author actually had no solution. He just complained about the same problem I had and how he had to send it back to Ruger for a new gun! Then someone in the comments clued him in on the solution. Doh!

(Kind of unbelievable that Ruger didn't tell him what the problem was! Then again the manual doesn't tell you how to completely disassemble the gun either)

It will loosen up a bit after some use. If not, there are weaker springs available. It is set up from the factory to handle +P ammo so it gets the heavy one
