ruger sr9 trigger

I recently bought a sr9 but wasn't impressed with the gritty trigger. Some of the grittiness worked its way out after 300 -400 rounds but was still not smooth at all . Sitting around the house this afternoon I thought I would try a little graphite on the wear surfaces of the trigger group.... turned the trigger pull to butter. I swear the trigger lost a lb of pull and completly cured the gritty trigger. Has anyone else used graphite before ,if so are there any downsides to graphite?

Once the graphite has done its job, clean it off all the surfaces. If you want a nice trigger for the SR9 google Ghost ultimate trigger.

Ghost doesn't ship to Canada ,or beleive me I would have ordered one.The graphite experiment was out of frustration

might seem like a silly question but what kind of graphite did you use??

I guess I am lucky, as my SR9 has a very sweet trigger, nice and smooth.

Hardware store lock graphite.Put a tiny amount on any friction points

Mine too way lighter pull than my glock17 my sr9 is like a hair trigger its unreal and its stock trigger

The triggers on sr. seem to be hit and miss , mine is great now but was pretty bad when I got it. It might be advisable to try out a few different r9's at your gun shop and pick out the best trigger.

mine was never heavy but it was really gritty.

I did a lot of polishing and tweaking and made it better for sure. Got the kit from Galloway precision and put it in. The trigger is great now. Still under $500 into it for the pistol(just for that, I have done other stuff to it)
