Ruger SR9 why so hard to find?

Just got an email response from Ruger USA.

They wont be shipping new backordered SR9's for 2-3 months.

At International Shooting Supplies in Surrey for $459. They're affiliated with Italian Sporting Goods in Vancouver, and I think Scott got the last two they had in stock off his partners, one for me and one for another customer. Couldn't hurt to call though!

Yeah Ballox, 9mm +P Hornady Critical Duty 135 grain HP is on order...nasty stuff! :)
I understand a couple of outfits are also loading HP 9mm +P+ ammo, which the SR9 can
handle as well, according to Ruger. Buffalo Bore I think is the name of one of the ammo
manufacturers loading the +P+...

I would like to try some just to get a little more kick for the fun factor but it's probably more expensive than 45ACP.

I don't know who's bringing it in back east, but in BC I know both Italian Sporting Goods and International Shooting Supplies should have some late April. Didn't know about the Federal Hydra-Shok 9mm +P+, thanks Bollox. Where did you find that stuff?
Ballox, the fancy stuff is $20-25 per 20, where the regular Blazer 115 grain 9mm FMJ goes for $12 for 50.

Checked out the Federal Ammunition website, and they don't make even a +P loading in 9mm. The Hornady Critical Duty 9mm +P in 135 grain is both faster at 1110 fps and has more energy at 369 foot-lbs. than the Federal Premium loads. Maybe Federal doesn't make a stronger load anymore? If anyone knows of a HP in 9mm+P+ that beats the Hornady ammo, and can be bought in Canada, please let us know...

So no major difference ?

Of course there is.
New ones have a whole new trigger assembly taken from the SR9c models.
Much more smooth, clean and with shorter reset than on the older models.
I think that the slide is a bit different too.
Just google that and You'll see.

Ballox, that's only true in the States, because black is better for concealed carry...in Canada the stainless SR9 is the most popular. Damn, I installed the springs and stainless bits and the SR9 shoots as nicely as any pistol I've shot!
