Ruger Sr9

I think there are may be one or two here own that gun, I am interesting to get one as well. But the SR9 has some bugs need to be work out, it may be take a year or two to be final.

If you are looking at one, be aware they had a recall:

Not meant to scare off, simply making you aware.

Funny, I hadn't looked there in a while and that trigger looks awfully like a glock.

I agree with Trigun though. Give them some time to work the bugs out. The P85 had issues too when it came out.

I like the SR9 too, but is it in the Prohibited firearms class?

handguns with a barrel length of 105 mm (about 4.14 inches) or less ???

I'm still waiting on a range report... anyone?
The recall and order back logs seem to be clearing up, and more and more dealers are starting to stock them.
I'd like to pick one up (black on o.d. green looks sweet :D), but I haven't read any new reviews on the state sites, and nobody here seems to be quick to post if they own one.

I am kinda like the OD too but seems the gunstore only sell the two tone one?

Good luck.....
Handled one with the 'new and improved' trigger...
WTF!...the pull weight must be in the double digits, but probably improves with a couple of thousand rounds...yeah, right.
I liked the heft, grip angle, etc, but in no way was I going to put my money down on this 'pig with lipstick'...
Too many other fine choices....G17, M&P9 to name just a few...

Ya the one I got to tinker with, the trigger was horrible.. I thought it was broken I had to pull so hard....

Piece of crap if you ask me, trigger and overall fit and finish...

lots of talk from people who have felt up the sr9 but not shot it

I brought a post recall sr9 in Oct 08 from Lever Arms in Vancouver for $504.00 tax in....Great deal. To date I have fired 800 rounds of Winchester 115g FMJ....cheap ammo from walmart in the states. Only one misfire due to the ammo. Good groupings for me on consistant basis at 20 yards, even better groupings from a tactical shooter and this is right out of the box. Everybody has been talking about the trigger pull and yes at the start it was rough, but after 800 rounds believe it or not it is a way better trigger than new. I have brought several Ruger products over the years with no problems and if there is Ruger addresses the problem right away. I bet you cant say that about glock, sw and others.

so , u would pick sr9 over M&P , for the $ 100?

Hmmm good question. Last year I stood infront of M&P and G17 and went home with the G17, that said M&P will not be in my list. On the other hand the SR9 is very slim and super nice to handle, but if you read the Ruger forum, you will found some of the SR9 have barrel peening problem, I might go with the XDM when they are land in Canada. The XDM may be more green but hey man it look hot.

Feel and look at them all you want, but it really only matter's when you test drive it on a range. That's how to decide. All this personal opinion crap doesn't matter unitl YOU like how it SHOOTS on the range. All the guns mentioned are good products. You decide which one works best for YOU. I happen to like them all. I have an MP (3700 rds in 6mo. with only 2 failure to fire's both attributable to ammo) and
really
like it, but liked the Glock too. I also really liked the Beretta, Sig and CZ. They are obviously different beasts though than the polymer guns and all are great. In Canada aftermarket support is important though, but I think these forementioned brands are pretty good in that regard.
