Ruger SR9c?

Hi
Anyone know if we can get this subcompact firearm anywhere in Canada? (with a ridiculous 'Canada-appropriate' barrel, of course?
I was looking at a Glock 26 with a Lone Wolf barrel, but by the time I get it changed (barrel) and then change classification from prohib to restricted, the best I can do is around $900.....so IF I could get a Ruger SR9c for just over $500, I could almost buy a SR9 AND an SR9c for the price of the Glock.

Curious why you'd want a compact with a barrel sticking out the end?

The Sr9 is one of the smaller guns even in the 4.x barrel.

To each their own. Just curious.

Ummnh....Troll....(interesting username, that).....thanks for your comment..however, along with the 'searching', it's important to ascertain that it refers back to the question...which was NOT about the Ruger SR22....but about the Ruger SR9c....by definition a 9mm and not a .22 cal.
So...it really doesn't address my question...although it DOES look interesting.
 
Id rather have one glock then two rugers IMO just look how good my sub compact g30 45acp looks

No more polymer pistols besides a Sig or HK for me. My Sig SP2022 was the best $500 I ever spent.

If I was the OP I'd just get the SR9 or 9E as they already have a 'barely legal' factory barrel without it sticking out, but to each their own. You might have to make sure that an appropriate CDN legal barrel does exist for the SR9c. At 3.4", you'll have .7-.8" of barrel sticking out!

Without the finger grip mag, it looks terrible if you ask me...

Not sure about the ruger, but there were a few M&P compacts somewhere with the converted barrel. I think IRunGuns had them at one point.

I sort of got flummoxed buy the first line - "Anyone know if we can get this subcompact firearm anywhere in Canada? (with a ridiculous 'Canada-appropriate' barrel, of course?" seeing how I was just readying the other thread.

I promise to be more careful next time and read with comprehension.

if i was you what i would do if the following.
id get ahold of a company like irunguns or questar and have them convert the gun before its imported, that way it arrives canada legal.
saves on all the paperwork and classification changes.

irunguns did that with the S&W M&P 40c then again with the 9c.
as they carry a lot of subcompact Glocks on their US site in stock all they would have to do is get the barrels in and swap them over.
that would also save you the $200 import fee.

when i requested mine the only thing that held it up was Storm Lake was behind on barrels.
once they got them in they just popped out the stock barrel and put in the SL one and sent it up to Canada with their monthly order.
cost increase was the $100 for the barrel.

Thanks, TrollGRG. I was just asking a sincere question....so the response seemed to be rather undeservedly smartass.....no problem....we're cool!
 
Thanks, wayupnorth, maybe I should look into that. As a former peace officer, I can buy a G26 from Police Ordnance for just over $500, but it's prohibited, so by the time they add the $50 for reclassifying it, plus $50 for their trouble, plus a couple of other charges, and then add my cost for a new barrel to send them to install plus taxes...that $516 gun was about $900. Still better than what some places are charging for a G26 with the 4.2" barrel, but not a lot....well, actually, maybe save about $300.

I've been to Front Sight (Training facility in Nevada) for a couple of courses, and rented a Glock, so decided to buy a Glock to practice with up here....so I'd be familiar with the same gun I'd be renting....but now it's getting away on me...Got a G22 (40 cal), with a 9mm barrel to switch, then a G17 lower with an Advantage Arms .22 conversion kit installed so I can practice with cheap ammo. Gonna have to buy a new safe if this keeps up!
