Hmmm... I think this is a lot of gun for the price. Here's a video of the differences between the SR9 and 9E. Tempting for me but I'd need to know the availability of magazines and more about the gun (don't know much about these Ruger's). Anyone knowledgeable about these guns? Seems like this would be a great 'don't care if you beat it up pistol'. What you guys think??? Are these terrible guns? If I'm used to my HK USP & Sig 226 Elite will this feel like a POS to me? How much for extra mags, 1 mag included isn't enough...

You buying, Yea or Nay

Compared to a HK or a SiG, ANY Ruger semi auto feels like a piece of sh!t. I 've handled a SR9 but not a 9E. If you play with a SR9 on its own with nothing to compare to, it feels fine. But if you put it next to a SIG or HK or Glock or M&P or Browning or Walther, it doesn't feel so good anymore.

Been down the SR9 path, not for me. Marginally better than a Glock.

Have an SR9, M&P, and a Glock already.
SR9 will be for sale shortly, just mediocre at best compared to the S&W and Glock. Very cheaply made gun....not the quality of the other 2 at all. Bought it first because it was the cheapest.... Better off buying better from the start.
Hard to beat the simplicity and durability of a Glock, and the M&P is just a little more refined then the Glock in some areas.

Well put! My experience as well.

at 360 plus exchange it puts the price only slightly under the SR9... which can be bought for as low as $459, I paid $479 for mine.

Good deal. Unless they don't charge the HST for me, it's pretty well the same price if I go pick it up at my local store and save the shipping. For those who bought the SD9, how is the trigger and price/availability for extra mags???

My dad owns two of these. He's had them for about two years (American citizen). He's put the Apex kit in one of them. The other one has the mediocre M&P stock trigger. Otherwise it's not a bad gun for the money. The plastic feels cheaper than an M&P though. He has plenty of mags, but again he's in America. I would assume they'll get extra here as these will be popular at that price.

NOPE, $360 too expensive.

I'd agree with you.

$361 US w/1 mag = $422 CDN as of today.

S&W w/2 mags is $369 CDN at my local store.

Add in $25 US surcharge for purchasing the first extra mag = not worth it. Can buy the SR9 for $479 CDN. Although the 9E has a superior 5 lb trigger to the S&W SD9VE's (which is reportedly - 8 lbs, stiff and long), it's still the better deal.

Doesn't look like I'll buy the 9E, unless the price goes down or our dollar gets stronger.
