Well, thanks to Brownells I now have two transformed handguns. I got my package from them yesterday so, today I decided to perform some mods.

GP100-I was almost going to sell the GP as the trigger was mediocre, at best. Based on some positive feedback here and on US sites, I ordered the Wilson Combat spring kit. Really easy to tear these GP's down. Popped in the new springs and did some light polishing. The trigger is now light-years ahead of what it was! Not quite ''tuned S&W" but close.

MK3 Target Competition- Wasn't contemplating selling this one, she's kinda the flagship of my Mk3 collection but did want to rid her of the silly mag drop "safety". Did a complete detail strip, cleaned her and installed a MK2 bushing, did some stoning/polishing, volt extractor and firing pin. Threw on a set of Houge wrap arounds to top it off (would have preferred non wrap-arounds but she's pretty trim to begin with so NBD) Mags now rocket out of the gun, trigger feels incrementally better (was darn good to start with)

Cheap easy mods to make great firearms greater. Will try em out in the next day or two at the range.

Almost look like twins!

How accessible are the mag release and slide lock lever with those grips? I have the same pistol with the stock wood grips that have the thumb rest. I love the colour but hate the access...almost need to release the mag with my left hand. I have considered putting the grip in my milling machine to make clearance but am worried about matching the finish.

Love the GP100! One of those and a Hi Power and I won't need anymore handguns. I like the GP's trigger in SA mode, does the spring kits make it better in both DA and SA mode?

so ###y! man I love that mk3...they have sure come along way from my 1949 standard model that I have. expect it to look that beautiful and be in your family for generations to come.

The mag release is much more reasonable to use with these grips. Now, I can actually shoot the gun with both or either hand and being that I am ambidextrous, that's a good thing!

Yes the trigger is better in both but the biggest difference is in DA. Used to be horrendous, now decent.

I don't find the DA that bad. Its heavy and a bit of a workout but I enjoy the challenge. I picked up a spring kit but haven't gotten around to putting it in. I may do so soon if only to compare.

Took them both to the range and they worked flawlessly.

Nice solid primer strikes with the 10# spring in the GP. May try the 8# now..

On another topic- anyone know how to stop shooting to the right in DA? f:P:2: I get a really nice group.... 2-3" to the right of the bull at 15m

Are you a lefty? Is so first thing that comes to mind is milking the grip while working the heavy DA pull. If you're a right, I'm stumped.

Ambi but I was shooting right as that's where I usually holster. (better selection)

And it's literally only on DA revolvers. Semi's don't seem to have the same problem with me.. I'll work on it next range day with some 38spl
