Contemplating one of the above in .308 (Getting older need light gun) I like the short action and .308 would serve my needs for white-tails or moose when the occasion arises --- how do they compare for accuracy/quality -- impressions?
I have owned a Browning Micro Medallion in .308 for over twenty years. It is the only rifle I have never sold, out of hundreds. It is accurate, has a beautiful trigger and a joy to carry.![]()
I've had both, and highly suspect you'd keep the Ruger longer. It's a higher quality gun, and has much better support for parts or warranty if needed (not likely, it's a Ruger). You're also gaining an excellent controlled round feed action, and far better safety design for hunting than the Browning. Plus, you get free rings with an excellent integral mounting system. Not a fair comparison between these two makers.
