Your guess is as good as mine on both accounts.. ruger says mid Dec rollout but it could be a year or more until they make it canadian distributors....
 
I was a long-time Ruger admirer, less so nowadays than earlier...but they seem to be one of the worst offenders when it comes to "announcing" a new product, which ends up taking many months or years longer to become available...or in some cases never appearing at all. Still want my XG-1...

I sure hope that a couple years from now won't see us all reading ads on the EE that proudly proclaim a REM-stamped Marlin for sale as though that is some kind of selling point compared to new Ruger/Marlins. :)

apparently people already think this lol, the used GBL's that were listed $700-$800 a year ago are now listing between $1200-$1500!! yikes good for people if they can get it I guess

I'm still waiting for the scaled up Mini 14 in 308.
 
With Covid restrictions still in place in many areas , and severe supply chain issues world wide , don't expect many Ruger made Marlins to make it North anytime soon . The stock in my LGS is extremely low with just about all brands of new firearms in short supply right now .

Almost put on the market. The fly in the ointment was achieving full functionality with all flavors of .308 ammunition. Ruger didn't want to market the rifle if it would only work with a specific limited range of loads.
 
Several XGI rifles were sold to the public, I remember seeing the auction listings. Ruger got to the cusp of mass production before pulling the plug, and the number of pre-production examples made numbered into the dozens. 20 or so years after the end of the project they decided they were tired of storing them and sold them off. If any made it north of the border there is a good arguement to be made that they are non-restricted.
 
Probably covered in other threads. But ruger has come out saying that machined rifles will remain machined, not investment cast as much of rugers product line. Believe their initial production was said to be 336 30-30, and 1895 45-70. Plans are.then to make 22 levers and pistol caliber 1894's. Seems unlikely for secondary calibers like 32 win spec.or 35 rem will be run.

Wonder if special runs like Lipsey's in oddball or presentation grades will follow. Probably irrelevant, as those small runs 9f about.1000 usually instantly sold out, south of the line.
