Haha, I might have to get out the files and do some blending.

A proper bolt handle.

As it turns out... they are ALL kinda ugly! Don't appreciate you pointing that out, I can't seem to unsee it.

This is making me want to design a stock with a flowing, sculpted bolt handle recess that is less like a gaping wound... which everything posted so far, has been... some just slightly less "gaping" than others. Why does the recess have to be an afterthough "gash" that the bolt handle dives into... why not start well before the handle to well after the handle with an elegantly curved recess?
Gaping? Both if mine have barely enough clearance for paint.
I’ll fill that in and just go off half cocked.
My point is to think out of the box... we are all so accustomed to that gouge in the side of the stock that we can't picture it another way... like contouring in an extended section with a gentle slope and having the handle sit in a wider valley that looks intentional rather than the crude gash in the side. I would bet it would also make cycling more positive, especially with those that like to palm the bolt.
Look up Rigby.
