I like the idea of this gun but I'm concerned that in .45ACP it will not be accurate. Interested in feedback on that count. My thinking is the length difference of .45 Long Colt compared to .45ACP is too great and the projectile will be unsupported for like .375 of an inch in the cylinder before the projectile reaches the sized cylinder. I take it the gun is hard to buy as well, near as I can tell. Would welcome owners comments on the gun.
Not to complicate the post but here is my situation:
I own a Freedom Arms .454 that I love. Mostly shoot .45 Long Colt in it. I want to get an extra cylinder in .45ACP for this gun. Getting the cylinder would cost me over $1000 CDN with shipping, custom broker and F/A's charge of $450. That is a lot of money. The Ruger is around $1400. I would never recover half that extra cost on resale of the F/A gun. I don't want to throw away money but want an accurate gun. I had a Ruger Blackhawk .45ACP/.45 Long Colt Lipsey and it wasn't accurate so I got rid of it and bought the Freedom Arms. Anyway that is my story. I'm awful tempted to go the extra cylinder route and suck it up. I don't ever plan to sell the F/A. Too bad I haven't worked in 18 months!
