If you're interested, I've started a podcast about competitive rifle shooting.

In the first episode I chat with Zak, a long time competitive rifle shooter, and entrepreneur about a wide array of things. We ask him about his go-to precision rifle platform, the founding of Competition Dynamics, the new TBAC Ultra series and getting lost at SHOT Show.

Come check it out on iTunes or like us on Facebook.

Thanks!

Thanks!

I am interviewing our next guest on Wednesday night, so I expect that it will be ready on Thursday.

I'll post a notification here when it's available.

I like the 1 round per $1 of match fee principal... provided it isn't upped with a bunch of pistol shots. PRS should actively discourage pistol in affiliated matches. They're such a PITA to fly with. They and their ammo take up weight that could be used for rifle rounds.

I agree somewhat. The matches I've shot that been both pistol + precision rifle matches have been more headache gear wise to carry, but have added an additional sort of flavour to the match. Matches that are unique are fun to shoot, and it is more of a pain to cross the border with a pistol AND bolt action rifle then just a pistol. Usually if I have just a bolt gun, they wave me right through. If there's a pistol coming with me it's 50/50 whether I get sent over secondary for a serial # check or not.

No one is going to these matches to shoot pistol. There are other ways to add stressors. I would rather replace the pistol and its ammo's weight in my luggage with more rifle ammo and do more things I can't do on any 20 yard range, like more high angle shooting or another stage with different mechanical movers at different distances.
