If you would like to shoot the V-Bulls Match, you are still welcome. We inevitably have last minute cancellations, and this leaves it too late to contact those on a waiting list, so... please feel free to enter. If I have more entries than we can realistically handle, I will cut off future entries, but if you wish to shoot, we will accomodate you!... This ia a 100% F-Class match and it thrills me to have this much interest!!

As the end of our shooting season stares us in the face, i wanted to let you know about our F-Class only Season Finale in Kamloops BC.

This match is a 300 and 500M match taking place on the range where the George Farquharson - Father of F-Class - was a member, and which will bear his name.

This is the perfect match for those curious to try F-Class! You can come out and shoot under match conditions, and I guarantee shooting in a match like this will teach you more about precision shooting than you will learn in years of lurking on internet forums! We will have mentors on hand, whose jobs, are to ensure that a new shooter has FUN, has any and all questions answered, and will leave our match totally hooked.

We will have F-Open class, FTR and we also have Factory Sporter class, so for those that would like to come out with their hunting rifles, or factory varmint rifles, this is the shoot for you! Let me know if there are any items you lack, in order to shoot. We can usually come up with loaners. We also have a seprate Benchrest class, which includes any and all shooters that prefer to shoot off a bench (regardless of rifle/ammo)

(info on the Factory Sporter Class can be found here. The short version: Any unmodified factory gun weighing less than 12 pounds including anything attached to the gun. No after-market triggers or barrels, and no purpose-built target rifles such as a Savage FTR gun.) Also, if you've ever competed in F-Class with anything other than a sporting rifle, you are excluded from this class. We want this class to be fair and fun for newcomers. You will also be shooting on a target where the scoring rings are twice the size as those for an F-Open gun, so any gun capapble of 1.5 MOA can win (1.5" group at 100 yards) can clean house.

Here is what a newcomer will need in order to compete:

gun (of course...)

Ammo: Sporter class will need 50 rounds of ammo for score, plus a MINIMUM of 10 sighters. We will have unlimited sighters before the first relay, so bring enough. Also, because this is a match specifically designed to help a newcomer be successful, we will have additional sighters when we make the shift to 500M, again, to make sure you are on the paper.

Those shooting FTR or FO will require 75 on score, plus sighters, so 90-100 is recommended.

Hearing Protection

Eye protection It is a policy at the range that this be used, but I do not police this.

Front rest or bipod or bag and a rear bag

Pen/pencil and some form of clipboard is suggested

A spotting scope is recommended, but NOT required (for keeping score... there are always lots on hand)

lunch, UPDATE: WE WILL HAVE A CONCESSION ON SITE THAT WILL BE SELLING BURGERS, SMOKIES, COFFEE, SOFT DRINKS AND ASSORTED OTHER ITEMS!! Profits will go towards the Canadian National F-Class team to the World CHampionships! Please bring you appetite!!.

Rudimentary camping is available on the range. Please let me know when you will be coming, as we need to make sure the gate is unlocked if arriving the night before.

We will also me setting up on the friday afternoon prior, and once complete, we will have an informal practice. Those that would like to attend a newcomers orientation the day before, please let me know and I will make sure we put this together for you.

Newcomers that cannot make the Friday, we will have a good orientation and briefing on the Saturday morning at 0815 hrs!

We have trophies for the top 3 shooters on each day in EACH class, plus we have a match aggregate trophy for the top 3 2-day scores in each. The winners will have their names engraved on the permanent trophy donated by Steve BC.

The entry form can be found here however, please note that you should send your entries directly to me, which you can get by sending me an email, or it is on my website. riflebarrels@telus.net.... feel free to ask any questions you may have.

To those that have paid already, we will honour your match fees, but an error was made, and there is no early match fee discount. Cost for the match is $60 for the 2 days and includes paid target markers, so no need to do time in the butts! This is the same fee you will pay at other club matches and you have to pull targets... We think the $60.00 fee is a bargain!

First rounds down range will be at 0900 sharp! Please be on-site and registered prior to the briefing at 0830.

Sat: 300M Unlimited sighters for 5 minutes, then 15 for score (Factory Sporter class 10 on score) (<optional 2 convertable sighters for experienced shooters>)

300M 2 sighters 15 on score (Factory sporter 10 on score)

500M 2 bonus non-scoring sighters, 2 convertable sighters 15 on score (Factory sporter 10 on score)

Sun: 500M 1 warming round, and 2 sighters 15 on score (Factory sporter 10 on score)

500M 2 sighters and 15 on score 2 sighters 15 on score (Factory sporter 10 on score)

Minimum ammo needed for FO, BR and FTR = 75 rounds plus sighters Factory Sporter class 50 rounds PLUS sighters (I suggest you bring an additional 20 rounds)

Convertable Sighters defined: You have the option of taking 2 sighting shots. You may apply shots 1+2 towards your score, or you may apply only shot 2, but you cannot leap frog and only apply shot #1. You are not required to apply (convert) your sighters towards your score, but often times after one relay where the gun is zeroed, your first two shots are good enough that you want to keep them.

Unlimited sighters defined: This is not a normal match practice, but since we are inviting new shooters to come out, where you may not have a 300m Zero, we allow you a five minute period to get the gun on target, so your scores are not affected by the need to fine tune your zero.

In F-Class, we actually have people under your targets who will mark where your shots land with a visible shot marker. This allows you to adjust after each shot. With the use of a "plot sheet" that we will supply, you will know exactly how much you need to adjust to bring your shot into the bull's eye.

OPTIONAL FUN TEAM SHOOT: On Saturday, we plan to have an optional fun team shoot for one relay... here's what it involves: You will need to hook up with other shooters to have a team of 4. (great way to meet other shooters!!!) You will have 45 minutes for your team of four to shoot 10 rounds each... you can alternate, you can shoot string, you can shoot paired, it doesn't matter (For those who are scratching their head, I will explain it in better detail on game-day) the team with the highest 40-shot score will win! The prize will be 4 bottles of the Okanagan's finest grape extract that I can buy from the Chase Cold Beer and Wine store. The cost weill be $10.00 per shooter, with the proceeds going to help send the Canadian National F-Class team to the world championship in 2013 Brin an EXTRA 12 ROUNDS, as you will have 2 convertable sighters with your 10 shots.

The Kamloops matches are some of the best. Undercover, great people, run smoothly,

ELEVATED RAMPS - for those a bit sore in the neck/back, this is a godsend and makes shooting ubber comfy. I think they recarpet every season :)

The conditions are challenging, the competition tough, and the experience freely shared.

If you are ever curious about shooting f class and can get to Kamloops, you will not find a better venue to come out and play.

The Sporter/factory class is exactly that. The goal, more happy shooters of all ages with just about anything that goes bang. I know the match directors would not allow gaming so all will have a great place to start.

I will have a complete factory rifle available to shoot - all that is needed is for the shooter to get behind the butt and pull the trigger. Whatever the cost is will go directly to the Cdn f class team fund.

The rifle is a Savage VLP in 223, Sightron optics, with no issue hitting the V bull.

Let me know...

Jerry

Well, that didn't take long. Got a pretty firm nibble on the rig so it may already have a pilot for this match. If anyone is still interested, please let me know and I will set up a wait list - certainly no more then 2 names.

Come on out. You will not find a better place to freeze your private parts at.

Jerry

"Light Artillery"

Nice buddy, no point scaring people off. I don't know what I'm bringing but It will be entertaining. This is going to be a fun shoot and look forward to seeing everyone especially the new shooters. Don.

We seem to be stalled at 18 entries and we need 30 to make this happen.... We have paid target pullers and we do our darndest to make sure we recognize the accomplishements of our shooters with a table full of awards.

Need to bring up numbers by the 10th of October or this will be a no-go.

Ian, I am trying my durndest to make the V bulls, but I won't know my work schedule for October until I get back from my Elk hunt late Sept/ early Oct. I will let you know as soon as I can. Hopefully can make it up with some fresh sausage:D:D

Hiya Glen! Congrats on the Palma shoot! I see Richard has made all the 7mm desciples angry with his 6BR Long Range match win!

Anyway, I will not be shooting the Farky as my work schedule does not permit it. (Yes, I'm choked!!) but I will try and visit during the shoot as I will be in the area. Much I would like to discuss.

I will also be at the Frozen Zuccini match.... See you there?
