"Running of the V-Bulls" Thanks to all and here are the results!

Richard, we could bring you a bucket of oil if you need it. Might be a few ducks in it but greepeace should be able to clean 'em up for ya.
Cheers, Glen.

Sean,

You are on the list but I am glad you checked in. Nobody has seen you and we thought you were still in jail. Those convenience store clerks just can't take a joke :) We will see you on the Wednesday before. That would be terrific!!

Many new last minute vacancies have opened up!

Which means that if you've ever wanted to give this a try, now is your chance. Even if you have no rifle, but would like to see what this is all about, come along tomorrow afternoon for the "mini-clinic" and you can use my rifle. I'll be bringing extra .308 rounds for anyone who would like to try their hand at this.

Hey Ian, Just got to town. I see you have me down as FSP and I think you said that I would be in FO. With my Savage which is fine. See you in the morning.

Well, it was an interesting first day! Although we had no rain, the wind hit gusts of more than 60 kms today! With 75 being the possible score on a 15 shot string, it was shocking to see many top-notch shooters scoring in the 50s!! When CyaN1de shoots a 63, you know it is a most challenging day of shooting.

We had challenges with the "Hamthrax" virus thinning our target pullers, and we struggled with a new group of target pullers on their very first match, but otherwise we managed to get things done.

Many new shooters out for this one and the group all seemed to be having a good time!

Big upset with the WIVES leading the packs! Ronnie3 and Darkangel have created a couple of monsters out there, but I couldn't be happier at their success.

"Machinst" used a rifle of mine in his first ever competitive shoot and topped the V-Bull count for the day!

This is no "trigger-pull" and a whole buch can change in a day!

Thanks Ian for a great match and also for letting me have the first official match round on the 500m targets :D it was a privilege to put the first round on the faces in the inaugural 500m match....even if it was a 3. LOL

V-BULL ** Pictures **

First of all I would like to give a Really big Thanks to Ian Hames and his crew for makeing this event happen , I was watching IAN at the event running around and dealing with the bad wind caueing targets to fly off and keeping things on pace, and answering questions from all of the other shooters , doing paper work ETC !! **** Good For you IAN **** on a great job, Ian is truly dedicated to the sport of precision shooting and promoting it to new shooters , with fellows like IAN and the other champions of the sport i am confident it will contine to have a brite future in BC :D

As for me it was my first try at a competive shooting event , i was extremly nervious at first but the help i recieved fron IAN , Len Grinell ,
** Brian my arn't we evil **
Aubry White , Mick Mcphee , **
** The dude with the Coyote hat  **
Richard ** for jumping in and adjusting my scope turrets **

**** And Coach TOM FRIPP :yingyang: ****

made things go really well , Ian lent me his F Class 6Br and what a machine !!!! the trigger goes off at the brush of a finger and it sends thoes little 6 mm pills down range with incredible accuracy , what a joy to shoot , before the shoot i did not even know what a 6Br was never mind shoot one . the wind was pretty bad on the Saturday and it made shooting a chalange , i guess i had beginners luck , Ian let me know at the end of the day that i had scored the most V-Bulls of the day and that i had shot well for a beginer ,On my second relay at 300 after my first two shots i scored a 5 and a V-Bull and they asked me if a wanted to CONVERT ???? WTF i thought !! The Evil one just looked at me an and nodded his head !! the rest of the group was probably laughing at me under their breath , I would of liked to of stayed for the rest of the event on Sunday but i had to head back home on Saturday night , I am looking forward to next season by then my rifle will be ready and i will be joining in on the fun , Here are some pictures for everyone to see.
CHRIS

Ian;

Yes; kudos to you for a great match and all of your hard work. It presented new challenges and opportunities to learn about shooting in the wind. As always, the good folks at KTSA sure know how to put on a match.

An outstanding inaugural event! Ian and all the guys, you deserve a huge thank you for all the work, and it went off just about perfectly.
Let me add my congrats to the target pullers as well. On the Friday, some of us were shooting while others did the target marking, and at the 500m range, the winds were really pushing down the targets. You had to lean against the frame and push against the wind, and sometimes the gusts would get the better of you. So when I saw these young kids when they came out for the event, I couldn't believe they'd be able to manage it, but by God they did, and if things were sometimes slow, and less than perfect, they were on both a steep learning curve and a physical struggle that would have been a strain for many of us.
They were amazing.

I learned more about wind shooting in one day than I have up till now; I had a ball; I can't wait for Spring. :D

Hey Chris!! Those pictures are terrific! I think you can even see the stiff desert grass bending over in that photo with the flags. We even had tumble weeds rolling over the range!

I am glad you enjoyed yourself and many folks wondered where you were for the second day, so you were well-liked and missed by many. Tom was impressed as hell at your shooting and figures we'll have some competition when you get your gun on-line. You missed some almost perfect conditions on the Sunday as you can see from the scores (I put them on page 1)

I was indeed grateful for the patience with our target pullers. We did the best we could getting teens to work on a Halloween weekend and it was their first go at this. One they found their groove, they did very well.

I hope this whets the appetite of those interested in coming out and giving this a try because a) a factory/sporter rifle class with the bigger target is here to stay at KTSA and b) We will be holding another F-Class introductory clinic in the Spring. Having spoken with Dave Adams about this, it may be in Mission this year.

Thanks to everyone for your enthusiasm, your kind words and your support.

Ian
