As others have mentioned , it is best to make friends with a neighbour , and leave your back woods buggy there ; it would give you peace of mind , and save a lot of worry .
Something else to consider. Long parked vehicles in rural areas attract varmints. Nice nesting place and those electrical wires are tasty.
Grizz
That is because one would have to be crazy to steal a ford LOL
No one cares, i have to agree cameras are kind of pointless unless it's just for your knowledge, police won't put any effort into an old offroad beater truck.
Put up a structure or sea can like others have suggested , its one thing to fuk around with some abandoned looking truck in the bush, but break and enter would make some people second guess getting in trouble
Also partly because there is a new generation of thieves who don't know how it (standard transmission) works.
Or the sea can would make them think there's something in there worth the trouble to steal. Flip a coin.
Why don’t you just fix your road?
Can't help but notice we have a very different society here in Saskatchewan. In my entire 40 yr. hunting career, leaving many vehicles at trailheads and on the side of back roads, I lost one spare tire. That't it. No vandalism, no break and enter, no trouble. I like to think the person who stole the spare tire needed it more than me.
Trailer and ATV. You have the trailer for supplies and an ATV to play with when not working on the place.
Give me a couple cordless tools and locks on a sea can won’t stop me for long, I’ve got a 40’ can on my property and I’ve spent a lot of time looking at the door locks on mine. Wouldn’t deter anyone that really wants to get inside.
If it were me I'd get a beater ford
The closest neighbouring properties (both the 100 acres behind me and the 10 acres north of me) are owned by the same guy, a local cop, who I haven't met yet. I think he's the guy I want to meet the most. There's a trail from his two plots that crosses the corner of my lot I know he uses to access his own. I have no problems with it, like I said, everyone has been great so far. But he'd be the best, most likely to notice something off.
I'm also considering one of those cell service trail cameras focused on the truck while parked.
