Okay so in the past Ive handled the Chinese sks rifle- Yesterday I picked up a near mint Russian and oh my GOD the difference. The quality difference of parts and craftsmanship blew me away. I wouldnt even know where to start explaining on how this rifle is so much more superior to the Norcy...

In wrapping this speech up I want to say this rifle is beautiful and I wouldnt ever even consider bubba-ing it with a black rifle stock, which I did do to the Norcy...Thank you so much commrads for your great work....

Thank you. Colt

Agree! I have a mint 1953 rusky and its a safe queen. i already have a well used russian,a chinese norc and a cz858 to wear out so i think my unissued russian is better at home:D

I've got a 1954 Russain with a Laminated stock and a Norinco thats wearing plastic right now.

Fit and finish on the Norinco is just as nice as the Russian.

But my son's fit and finish looks like a last ditch mauser, still shoots fine. But it hurts the eyes to look at...
Most likely mines an older model but I don't think all Norinco's are created equal.

tokguy: your factory 316 a pinned barrel?
It's @ home now( I'm 6 hours driving and 7 -9 days time away) but I think it is a pinned barrel

Another pic there if that helps

But it came wearing the plastic; although the wood is pretty plain compared to the Russian; the metal fit and polish is as good.
But Russian trigger is much lighter and crisper. Gotta give credit where its due I suppose
