Russian AN-94 - Did they ever produce a civilian semi?

I've been trying to get as much info as I can about the Russian AN-94. Did they ever make a civy of this rifle? Also, would it be legal? It's not an AK variant...

I was under the impression they couldn't even get the funds to implement them on the scales they wanted to on the military side.
Unfortunately I wouldn't hold your breath on a civy varient, and even if they did the CFC would probably class it as an AK variant the way they did with the Dragunovs, and many other guns that should not have been in that class.

I thought I had seen an English dealer selling them as a straight pull action, though I might be wrong, it may have been the AK104. I will have to look for that ad.

They are really complicated so making a semi auto version is kind of silly.

They are only used by russian special forces due to the fact that they are not as rugged as an ak-74

The russians dont make 5.45 rifles for civilians. The caliber is considered prohibited for civilians ownership, even in export. So the caliber would have to be different. In any case the russians probably see no need to let civilians have the Abakan.

I thought that this was probably the case. The AN's greatest selling point seems to be its two round burst, clearly a military feature.

Yup I was wrong, its 102, 103 and 104s they are selling in the UK.

Made with parts kits maybe. Any russian guns in that caliber in the USA have bulgarian barrels. Russians will not sell any 5.45 rifles to anybody but military and police.
