Russian M44 Should I bring those

I have had several, none were good shooters. I paid $50 - $75 for them a few years back but now I would value them at no more than $150.
Why do all the gun shops in Maine have nice referbs of Mosin Nagants for $100 and they are not available in Canada?
You must have bad luck. The 2 russian ones I posted pics of in this thread put in groups around 3 inches at 100 yards. The light stocked polish one even better.

$300 to $400 is going price for NIB Polish M44's
Problem with the M44 is 1) short sight radius
2)(most important)off set front sight. The recoil of the rifle has been taken into account in the windage offset of the front post. The side mounted bayonet causes the gun to recoil in a slight arc. If the recoil is not matched to the offset then the gun hits right or left of target as much as 6"! My squib plinking rounds offer little recoil so group 6" to 7" right.
S&B 180gr group 3" to 4" left with bayonet folded and 3"to 4" right when extended....
They are a tricky gun to accurately shoot at any distance.
Even though they are cool looking.

Ok I am placing an order for 200 pcs of M44. It is limited order will fly out in about 1.5 to 2 month when all paperwork complete. All people that send us an email to waiting-list@westrifle.com will be served first. If anyone has not said but want one please say something now so that I will try to increase an order.

Sergey

Any luck in finding M38's?

Maybe you could have a coffee now that you're awake. Mosins have been on sale in Canada for $100 FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. Westrifle for one, has had that price and the conditions of the rifles and bores have been excellent.

It'll be interesting to see if Wolverine has any M-44's in that pile of poo they're going to list tomorrow. I have complete faith that Westrifle will describe them accurately and they will be priced accordingly. Asking for prices and condition now might be a little premature considering they're still a couple of months away.
I think its much safer to save the dough for these than try and luck out in the mad-grab tomorrow.

This is the first time I looked at westrifle/s web site. They list lots at $100, $130, $159 with the same description for each. I assume there must be a difference. All are said to have a black finish. Is that black paint? What does it cost to mail one these days?

Shipping to me in Ontario was $20 a rifle.
I got 3 $100 and one $130. The difference in price is the years and aresenal. 100 Izhevsk, 42, 43, 44. $130 izhevsk 38,39, 40 etc. $150 TULA
No paint. Very nice matte blued finish.
Stocks were awesome, no repairs. All matching with matching bayo.

These are excellent rifles with very strong and fresh bores for $100. Mailing Canada post is about 25 bucks. Some rifles have more collectible features and laminate stocks are worth a couple bucks more. Black finish/paint is standard issue, they are all that way from factory. This is the Milsurp deal of the decade. Grab one or several while ammo is still cheap enough to stock up on.

Apologies for straying from original post. Oh Yes, M44s, get one of them as well.

They want $49 to ship a 1891/30 to NB. Where are they located? I would prefer the 1891/30 over the 44 and the price is right. The shipping price is very high these days. I used to buy & sell through the mail in the 90's when it cost under $8 to mail a Lee Enfield. Now I hear of shipping prices as high as $75/gun. Anyhow, I think I'll order an 1891/30. Thanks for the help and please accept my appologies for getting a bit off topic.

westrifle charged me 41 bucks to ship'newestminster to campbell river.bit much id say.i shipped a mosin to toronto for 35.must charge for handling i dunno

Guys since January 1st Canada Post increased rates on shipping. If any of you work in UPS and can give me a great rate that I can pass to my customers. I will appreciate it.

Cheers

I think we can reduce the cost of shipping by ordering more than 1 rifle also!? order 3 and get a substantial cut on shipping. Could you confirm that Westrifle?
Cheers

I just got a $130 Mosin from westrifle. Total price shipped to the Windsor area was $207. I think shipping was $55.

The bore on the rifle is DEFINITELY NOT excellent. I would say decent/good at best. The rifling is pretty worn and little bit pitted. I decided to keep it rather than waste $100 on shipping to send it back. It will still make a great range beater.
