Russian Maxim PM 1910, NEW SEMI receiver. Any interest?

Project Guns is doing the work with Arms East on the "hopefully" soon to be released RPDs coming north.

Question about the Maxim, do these have designs similar to the 1919 with a 5 wall receiver? If they do, all the walls of the Maxim need to be newly manufactured from scratch, as recycling any of the original full auto Maxim receiver walls here would be considered converting a full auto.

Oops, sorry everyone. I didnt realized that WG is a closed forum. Thanks for the tip.

I'm sure that Sir Hiram would consider the 1919 to be similar to the much earlier Maxim, as Sir Hiram considered JMB to have infringed on his patents!
But, yes, the Maxim does use plates riveted together. I believe it is Right and Left side plates, a bottom trough or channel, and the trunnion at the front.
You are correct about the All-New aspect, and I touched on this in my first post.

Yes, the RCMP do not follow the BATFE definition of just the S/N right sideplate being the "firearm". So it will require the complete receiver box to be built from new. However, the parts are fairly simple, being mostly flat plates. I dont see this being a deal breaker.

If the plans and parts kits where ever brought to Canada and available I would build a NR version in a heart beat as this just begs to be done. What is NOT to like about this idea, relatively affordable and plentiful ammo, pre 1945 belts, water cooled, big and gawky, sounds like a winner to me. Mean while the damned RCMP are dicking around the RPD fellows and in my heart of hearts feel they are waiting to see which way the wind (election) blows before giving an FRT or just flat out prohibing just for the sake of prohibing.

No, I'm not interested in reasonably priced, non-restricted, belt fed surplus eaters. Sounds lame. Who wants that much fun in one place? I have a cooey, that should fulfil all my gun fun needs.

This sounds awesome, please make it real.
