Russian MP153, tell me about it... Cause I just bought one!!! (Don't tell Huntress)

Thats about right. Bass Pro in Vaughn Mills had them for $400 on sale, no idea if they are still available at that price. Also they were a pain to deal with over the phone.
 
They have 26 and 28 as well.

Marlin: You are suppose to clean all the crap out of it first, then the mag tube needs a drop of oil on it.
 
ok, i took an oily rag and wiped all them parts with oil, where my piston i guess its called slides into the barrel chamber there, might not be lining up, if i take the barrel off etc and slide it in theres tons of room, looks like too much, but with the barrel installed and the sliding peice on the mag tube its got a real hard time, somethin's funny. i took some fine sand paper and polished up the tapered lip a little bit, but it still seems like its not straight. i can't see any wear any perticular place though, about 300 rounds through it
 
Wipe the stuff of with varsol, oily rag ain't strong enough. I don't know exactly what you're talking about since I don't have the same gun, but all autos requires a small amt of oil there to keep it working.

Sounds like your piston isn't lining up with the "gas cylinder". Not sure if thats the right word. I would NOT touch the piston or the gas cylinder w/ sandpaper. If you're polishing the mag tube which the piston slides on, that should be OK. I've polished mine up a bit w/ fine steel wool trying to get the powder residue off. Take the gun to a gunsmith or someone who knows what they're doing to take a look at it, hard to say the cause over the internet.
