I took my newly aquired SKS out and blew off 100rd.
What a blast !
But I ran into a prob after cleaning and that was getting the trigger group back into the rifle . That clip pin would not seat .
I finally got it to snap back into place but only after I bruised the palm of my hand.
Is there a trick to this ?

Dont think so.
I thought i must have been doing something wrong when it wouldnt go back in there.

Remember, this is a Russian rifle. In the motherland everything gets fixed with a mallet and vodka :D

Congrats on the new gun! Make sure the safety is on when installing/removing the trigger group, otherwise it blocks the clip pin.

I just put the reciever upside-down on a solid surface (carpeted cement) hold the trigger group in place with one hand and give it a good smack with the other.

Works first try every time.

Before disassembling the rifle, pull the bolt back to #### the trigger.
The trigger should be cocked and the safety lever turned to the up safe position before trying to depress the trigger release button.

After removing the trigger group leave it cocked and on safety. Reinstall the trigger group with it cocked and on safety, do not take the safety off and pull the trigger while the assembly has been removed from the rifle.

It doesn’t require any where near as much force to depress the trigger release button or install the trigger group when it is cocked and on safety as it does uncocked.

edited to add: KennyC and Trotter beat me to it :D
